Staying in-shape

During and off-season

Something that is very important for an athlete is staying in-shape during and off-season. Because if your not doing the necessary to stay in-shape, poor performances, fatigue, and risk of injuries are the most common things that can happen to you. During the season, you need to go in maintenance phase, which means that instead to build up more muscles, maintain what you built up during pre-season. You work hard enough in practice and games, so you don’t need to intensify it on your personal workout because it can lead to injuries and physical fatigue. Other things you need to do, and maybe the easiest to do but the most important is eating and sleeping. It may be dumb, but without respecting those, it will affect everything in being an athlete (attitude, perfomances, fatigue, injuries etc) the simpliest quote but the one you need to remember ‘’Eat, Sleep, Work, Repeat’’. Eat healthy food, no junk food, nutritious meals to maximise your performance and to recover from workouts. You need to eat carbohydrates, it’s your fuel, you find them in (vegetables, fruits, pastas, breads, lean protein, whole grains etc.)  and the most important one HYDRATATION, you lose so much water when you workout and it makes you lose weight so the water you lost you need it back.
